  2. Check availability on our online calendar (see below)
  3. Contact us to discuss arrangements and confirm booking

Risk Assessments

If you cannot find the sample risk assessment for the excursion you are planning please contact the Centre on 02 42376100 or email Illawarra-e.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Staffing ratios

All groups must maintain a 1:15 adult to student ratio (eg. one IEEC teachers and one visiting school teacher supervises each group of up to 30 students).

Some ratios change depending on the activities involved. Check ratios for all water based activities.

Excursion costs

The IEEC's excursion costs are in place to fund the expense of staffing individual programs. As such, the following costing models apply, with variations based upon particular staffing needs.

Payment

IEEC will send you an interschool journal after the excursion based on the number of students in attendance. Fees are GST free.

Camping

Camping (overnight) and bunkhouse accommodation (two night minimum) is available at Killalea Regional Park Campground. Rates vary throughout the year and bookings are managed by

Weather

Extreme or wet weather may result in the excursion being modified, postponed or cancelled. Includes days predicted to be above 35C, high winds, dangerous water conditions and extreme bush-fire danger.

Teachers concerned about the possible impact of predicted weather upon their excursion should ring the IEEC on 4237 6100the day before to discuss contingencies.
