Art of Place
Stage 3 - Visual Arts
HPGE
The Art of Place program is designed for High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) students in the creative domain. It fosters originality, experimentation and deep personal expression through immersive, nature-based artmaking experiences.
Grounded in the 4Ps framework of creativity (person, process, product and place), the program offers open-ended, multimodal activities that encourage students to explore complex ideas, take creative risks and develop a distinctive artistic voice. Students engage in sensory observation, land art, nature journalling and collaborative installations, with an emphasis on valuing the creative process as much as the final artwork.
Through deliberate opportunities for choice, challenge and reflection, students are supported in synthesising ideas, expressing personal meaning and building confidence in their creative identity.
This enrichment experience takes place at Killalea or other local natural settings by negotiation, allowing flexibility to connect learning to place and community.
