Year 11 Geography
Earth's Natural Systems
Minnamurra River
Students investigate the Minnamurra River’s natural systems by observing the Minnamurra River by canoe, and conducting fieldwork on the sand spit.
Geographical Investigation
Jervis Bay
Students examine the Jervis Bay region as a case study to support their own geographical investigation, deepening their understanding of how places and environments can be effectively managed. *
* This overnight program is offered in collaboration with IEEC's S6 Geography Community of Schools, with dates negotiated to suit participating schools - typically held in early Term 2 each year.

Ecosystems and Global Biodiversity
Ecosystem Investigation - Subtropical rainforest
Students conduct hands-on fieldwork in the Illawarra subtropical rainforest to investigate biodiversity, succession, and resilience, including surveys, and a Red Cedar recovery study.
Rural and Urban Places
Rural place - Berry, NSW
Students use geography fieldwork tools to assess how population growth and tourism affect Berry’s social, economic, and environmental character, including its heritage, tourism, and residential-rural balance.
Year 11 Biology
Ecosystem Dynamics - Depth Study
Future of Minnamurra River
Students collect primary data on the ecosystems of the Minnamurra River to complete a depth study on the effects of sea level rise.

Fieldwork only
Students design fieldwork questions and hypotheses, then investigate coastal ecosystems through surveys and abiotic measurements.

Earth and Environmental Science - Impact on coastal ecosystems
Students investigate invasive species at Minnamurra Spit, collect field data, and use their findings to propose a coastal dune management plan..

Students design and conduct a field investigation to test a hypothesis based on their observations of rock platform organisms.
