High potential and gifted education
Our centre offers outdoor learning programs for students of all ages who are gifted or show high potential.
These programs are linked to the NSW curriculum. They are designed to stretch and challenge students with strengths in thinking, creativity, leadership or physical skills.
What we offer
Each high potential and gifted education program includes:
- authentic, hands-on learning in nature that helps students think in new and deeper ways
- activities linked to science, geography, visual arts and PDHPE
- tasks that support creative thinking, problem solving and leadership
- chances to ask big questions, work with others and explore ideas
- learning about caring for Country, sustainability and Aboriginal cultures
- classroom activities before and after the visit
- teachers who are trained to support and stretch high potential students
Extension programs
Future Keepers
A Stage 2 and 3 science/biodiversity program for high potential and gifted learners in the intellectual domain.
Art of Place
A place-based outdoor learning program for those with high potential and giftedness in the creative domain through visual arts, Stage 3.
Leadership and Teamwork
A program for idendifying and developing high potential and gifted learners in the social emotional domain, through PDHPE.
Project Platypus
A stage 3 science/biodiversity program for high potential and gifted learners in the intellectual, creative and social emotional domain.
